First VLCC Registered under the Portuguese Flag

The International Shipping Register of Madeira (MAR) has welcomed its first Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), the OLYMPUS, a vessel of over 300,000 DWT built in 2023 and classed by ABS.

With this registration, the Portuguese flag now covers the full range of commercial vessel types, including the largest crude oil tankers in operation.
