Posidonia 2026
31 May 2026 - 4 Jun 2026
Posidonia 2026 took place in Athens from June 1–5. The exhibition brought together shipowners, managers, financiers, brokers, classification societies, flag states, and a wide range of maritime service providers from across the world.
EUROMAR attended with a team of five: Joerg Molzahn, Carla Olival, Angelos Roupas, Konstantinos Pagonis, and Andre Duro. Over the course of the event, the team met with shipowners, managers, lawyers, and bankers. Much of the activity at Posidonia takes the form of informal encounters, providing a useful overview of current industry developments.
Greek shipping remains one of the largest national segments in global maritime trade, with the Greek-controlled fleet covering a wide range of vessel types. Interest from Greek-based operators in the Portuguese flag has grown over recent years, reflected in a rising number of vessels under the Madeira Registry and an increasing volume of newbuilding programmes being registered with the flag.
The Portuguese flag is currently the fastest-growing flag within the European Union. To support the expanding Greek client base, EUROMAR has added a full-time technical person based locally, providing direct technical assistance to Greek-managed fleets.
