EUROMAR renewed as exclusive operator of MAR

The Regional Government of Madeira has officially renewed the concession granted to Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira (SDM) for another five years. As part of this renewal, EUROMAR continues as the exclusive agency representing the International Shipping Register of Madeira (MAR).

“This renewal reaffirms our commitment to the ongoing development of the Madeira Maritime Register and to our trusted cooperation with SDM and the Regional Government of Madeira,” said Dr. Albrecht Gundermann, Managing Owner of EUROMAR.

Over the past decade, MAR has grown impressively, now with more than 1,000 vessels registered under the Portuguese flag. SDM highlights the key role of EUROMAR in this success story and underlines that cooperation in the maritime registration field is carried out exclusively with EUROMAR.

Both SDM and EUROMAR reaffirm their shared goal of sustainable fleet growth, emphasizing quality, compliance, and transparency in alignment with European standards.
Their joint ambition: 2,000 ships under the Portuguese flag by 2034.
