PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaign on Ballast Water Management

The Paris and Tokyo MoUs are currently conducting a joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Ballast Water Management, which runs until 30 November 2025. The campaign assesses compliance with the Ballast Water Management Convention, focusing on certification, updated management plans, crew familiarization, system approval and operation, as well as proper record-keeping.

Each ship inspected during this period will be subject to only one CIC inspection. If non-conformities are found, Port States may take measures ranging from recording deficiencies to detaining the vessel until issues are resolved. Results of the campaign will be published on the Paris and Tokyo MoU websites.
