NorShipping 2025
1 - 5 Jun 2025
At this year’s Nor-Shipping in Oslo (June 2–6), one of the leading global events for the shipping and maritime industries, Portugal highlighted its growing relevance for international shipowners and maritime stakeholders.
During the dedicated session Opportunity Portugal – Your Safe Harbor for the Future of the Maritime Industry, government and industry representatives presented the advantages of Portugal’s maritime sector. AICEP (Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency) introduced Portugal’s business environment, followed by two focused panels:
- Opportunities in Portugal’s Blue Economy for Shipping: SDM and EUROMAR outlined the benefits of the Madeira International Ship Registry (MAR), offering technical and regulatory advantages relevant for Norwegian and international shipowners and managers.
- Sustainability and Innovation: Oceanscore, Tecnoveritas, Lisnave, the University of Coimbra, Fórum Oceano, and DNV presented solutions for ship modernization, decarbonization, and digital transformation, important topics also for Norwegian owners navigating the green transition.
The event closed with networking and a Madeira wine tasting, offering an opportunity for dialogue and exchange between maritime stakeholders.
Portugal remains a reliable partner for shipowners seeking competitive registration, technical expertise, and innovative solutions, fully aligned with Norway’s forward-looking shipping sector.
